Imagine This...

Imagine participating in a conversation with a group of people and following that conversation without having to say, “What?”

Imagine not having to nod in agreement when you didn’t hear the question and were too embarrassed to ask for repetition again.

Imagine hearing and understanding the punch line of the joke instead of having to pretend you did.

This is exactly what auditory training does!

It improves overall communication skills, making it easier for you to express yourself, understand others, and participate more effectively in social, academic, and professional settings.

Auditory training can also help maintain cognitive function by keeping your auditory pathways engaged and active.

This Course Was Designed Specifically For:

  • Adults with hearing loss who wear appropriately fit hearing aids

  • Adults who have normal hearing but have difficulty understanding speech when there is noise in the environment

  • Adults who have been diagnosed with auditory processing disorder

When hearing loss is not addressed, we find that adults often experience:

  • A loss of self-esteem and confidence

  • Cognitive decline

  • Fatigue from the effort to listen

My Promise To You

As individuals with hearing loss become more proficient in their listening skills, they often experience increased self-esteem and confidence in social situations. This can lead to greater participation in social activities and improved overall well-being.

In addition, hearing loss has been linked to cognitive decline and an increased risk of conditions like dementia. Auditory training can help maintain cognitive function by keeping the auditory pathways engaged and active.

People with hearing loss often exert more effort to understand speech and sounds, which can lead to fatigue and stress. Auditory training can reduce the cognitive load required for listening, making it easier and less tiring to engage in conversations and activities.

My promise to you is that by the end of this course, you will:

  • Improve your ability to understand others when they are speaking in a variety of environments
  • Communicate more effectively--this is about more than just the words you use, it's also about the way you listen and respond
  • Enhance your relationships
  • Boost your self-confidence--Improved self confidence leads to better interpersonal relationships, sense of well being, and willingness to try new things

How It Works

Each class includes a variety of lessons called Phoneme Training. These will allow you to better distinguish between similar sounds. This is important for understanding spoken language and is especially helpful for individuals with hearing difficulties or auditory processing disorders.

By the end of the 8 classes, you will have learned 300 of the most commonly used words in the English language, which will significantly improve your ability to communicate by understanding well over half of what you hear.

In addition, auditory memory training, speech in noise training, and communication repair techniques are included to improve your listening ease.
